Building to work or working to build… either way we’re always drawing up a new plan. As designers and craftspeople with two young children, we believe good design and quality craftsmanship extends to all facets of design in your home whether that be in the furniture that makes your space or the places your children play. We believe that great ideas, hard work & high standards allow the best work to shine through.
How did we get here?
The simple answer is… an engineering brain and an architecture brain got together and made a family in central VA.
The Engineer | Ben
Ben has always been able to figure out the tectonics of anything and has a multifaceted background in figuring out how things work. He grew up in a family of contractors and has always been able to manage to construct or build anything that we could come up with. Woodworking became a passion and a new way to use that mentality was born.
The Architect | Rachel
Rachel is the creative in this equation. Art & design have always been at the forefront in all aspects of life. Drawing up plans and envisioning spaces is what she does. Interiors, exteriors, renovations, custom builds, layouts, color… it all comes together.
This is us. We’re makers & doers. It’s how we live and what we do.
As a husband and wife team we are no stranger to a design/build. Our passion for handcrafted projects took flight as we made our first house our home and then continued to grow into new avenues as we expanded our projects into other aspects of home design. As our experience grew, so did our projects.
Throughout our projects our philosophy has been simple…. good design, forethought, and execution lends itself to projects that are built well. We love to plan & we love to build. We also feel that no plan is too small; no plan is too big. It’s all about the project and the finished outcome. Our journey into designing handcrafted spaces has turned into our passion and now we want to bring that enthusiasm and excitement to you.
